Justice Rajendra Mal Lodha appointed as Chief Justice of India



1. Justice Rajendra Mal Lodha has been appointed as the next Chief Justice of India and will assume his charge on April 27.
2. The oath of office to Lodha will be administered by President Pranab Mukherjee on the same date.
3. Lodha is a Supreme Court Judge and has formerly served in Bombay and Rajasthan high court as Judge and in Patna High court as Chief Justice.
4. He will have a brief tenure of five months as the Chief Justice as he is scheduled to retire on September 27, this year.
