Manavjit Singh Sandhu beats world champion to take gold at ISSF Shotgun World Cup

Manavjit Singh Sandhu beat two-time Olympic champion Michael Diamond en route to the men’s trap gold at the ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Tucson, USA.

Manavjit outperformed quite handily Australia’s Diamond, who won gold in the 1996 Atlanta and Sydney Olympics in 2000, besides winning five gold medals at the Commonwealth Games.

The 37-year-old Manavjit, who won gold in the World Cup four years back, shot scores of 121 and 13 in the qualification and finals. Diamond scored 119 and nine in the qualifications and finals, respectively.
